It doesn't suggest the signal flow of the device very well in it's layout, often it's difficult to get specific values into some of the controls, such as moving a slider by 1. Also the interface doesn't seem to reflect changes made on the evolver itself (really not a big deal to do). A good synth editor should also be better at maintaining a library of sounds and allow you to do things such as store a short snipet of audio along with the sysex for the corresponding patch, add key words that can be searched on, etc. It does have a few interesting features in it but in general it's just very amateur software as it is, which considering it something we pay for when buying a poly I don't think that's acceptable. If you've used any of sound towers other editors it's also pretty generic and doesn't reflect the character of the instrument at all.
