The interface on the evolver/polyevolver editor is really poor anyway. One of these days I gotta ban music for a month a finish my ms2k editor and build a evolver/poly editor based on it. Just to lazy though and would rather make cool sounds. --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, "Richard Scott" <richardscott@b...> wrote: > SoundTower is completely unreponsive on all issues! > > that's outsourcing I guess > > :( > > Richard > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "DodgingRain" <Chris@c...> > To: <DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com> > Sent: Thursday, May 13, 2004 1:08 AM > Subject: [Evolver] Polyevolver and evolver through the editor > > > Anyone have any luck being able to edit both the evolver and polyevolver > > through the editor like it was one synth? It doesn't suggest the signal flow of the device very well in it's layout, often it's difficult to get specific values into some of the controls, such as moving a slider by 1. Also the interface doesn't seem to reflect changes made on the evolver itself (really not a big deal to do). A good synth editor should also be better at maintaining a library of sounds and allow you to do things such as store a short snipet of audio along with the sysex for the corresponding patch, add key words that can be searched on, etc. It does have a few interesting features in it but in general it's just very amateur software as it is, which considering it something we pay for when buying a poly I don't think that's acceptable. If you've used any of sound towers other editors it's also pretty generic and doesn't reflect the character of the instrument at all. Essentially if it was my software I would consider it more at a proof of concept/testing for underlying datastructures and processes level. --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, trippler@t... wrote: > > The interface on the evolver/polyevolver editor is really poor > > anyway. > > IMHO it's pretty good. I'm not picky I guess. I can manage files using my file manager, and I can edit all the params I need to from the editor, and it seems pretty stable. *shrug*
