The interface on the evolver/polyevolver editor is really poor
anyway.

One of these days I gotta ban music for a month a finish my ms2k
editor and build a evolver/poly editor based on it.

Just to lazy though and would rather make cool sounds.

IMHO it's pretty good. I don't have any problems with it. What should be
improved ?

Re: [Evolver] Polyevolver and evolver through the editor

It doesn't suggest the signal flow of the device very well in it's
layout, often it's difficult to get specific values into some of the
controls, such as moving a slider by 1. Also the interface doesn't
seem to reflect changes made on the evolver itself (really not a big
deal to do).

A good synth editor should also be better at maintaining a library
of sounds and allow you to do things such as store a short snipet of
audio along with the sysex for the corresponding patch, add key
words that can be searched on, etc.

It does have a few interesting features in it but in general it's
just very amateur software as it is, which considering it something
we pay for when buying a poly I don't think that's acceptable. If
you've used any of sound towers other editors it's also pretty
generic and doesn't reflect the character of the instrument at all.

Essentially if it was my software I would consider it more at a
proof of concept/testing for underlying datastructures and processes
level.

Ouch... I haven't looked at the editor, but I agree with all these points.

It sounds like someone needs to write an adaptation for SoundDiver.

I'm not picky I guess. I can manage files using my file manager, and I
can edit all the params I need to from the editor, and it seems pretty
stable. *shrug*
