Actually, dave has implemented a smoothing algorithm for the filter cutoff and some other functions, the filter shouldn't really step, it just feels like it does because the knobs don't move smoothly, they jump. I think most rotary encoders work like this. I like the encoders myself, they make it easy to just tweak one step (although the anti-jitter algo for the encoders needs improvement, they tend to 'jump' for no reason). They also don't just move if they are bumped, and that's cool. I'm evolver-less at the moment, does anybody know if the filter steps from the modwheel, or expression, etc.? You know, I don't think it would be hard to find encoders that do what you want, but be prepared to pay, and be prepared to void your warranty. At any rate if this knob-pull feature you suggest were implemented you'd have to buy a new evolver to get it.
