my experience with sucktower

2004-08-06 by universumsmedelpunkt

I got the soundtower editor about a year ago.
My experience turned sour right away, when I realized that the editor
can not synk up to incomming midi clock while editing. The evolver
really shines when the sequencer is running as you all know.
Soundtower replied to my complaint that "moust people have midiclock
running from within the secuencer program on the computer, hence no
need to be able to merge incomming midi" or something like that.
The bottom line was that one needed a program like cubase or so to
properly operate the editor.
Well isent the love of hardware why I ended up with the EvO in the
first place? I was perfectly happy with my hardware sequencer
(MPC2000).I got myself a Kracked version of some program, and im not
ashamed of that,Im only using it as a midi merger. But than im in for
the next dilemma.Theres a bunch of lag doing it this way. Yes I can
edit the evolver while being hooked up to the tempo of the curren
arrangement, but the lag make it sound totally sucky.
It doesent matter how "snappy" the adsr's are when the whole thing is
way behind....
This was all to be corrected in the next software update. That was
such a bad lie it could have come from the Statedepartment.
What update?
