It's obvious that some people are happy to use this evolver software on PC
or MAC and get it to produce great patches, and yeah, for a lot of people's
pcs or macs it does seem at least usable.. I am jealous of them, because
like I said already, I really want a *good* *usable* editor for my evolver
too.....

However with the soundtower evolver editors, there appears to be some sort
of incompatability problem, with users all over the place not being able to
get it to work.... on top of that, its very unintuitave, and requires a
proper layout that people can just sit down in front of and GET
WORKING....... basically, all complaints point to the software being badly
written.... and the company totally not caring..

There's so much more to selling a commercial program than slapping down a
few sliders on the screen, linking some code to it, and hitting the
"compile" button... the real work actually happens when you get customers
with a computer that's different to your development environment, and it
isn't behaving properly. This is where soundtower falls down. From what I
have seen, the evolver editor needs 1 or 2 good rounds of plain old
fashioned BUGFIXING.... it needs usability tweaks (the interface sucks...
just because its possible to learn how to drive a piece of counter-intuative
software, doesn't mean people should have to!) and then it would be an
actual commercial program thats worth money for someone to buy...

This is *exactly* my problem with the microwave1 editor, (which is the whole
reason I never bought the evolver editor!) and this is exactly why it
frustrates me so much - this software could be really good, if the author
just could bring himself to care and take pride in his work, and spend those
extra hours finishing his job...
