now, others may differ, but I wouldn’t describe the filters on the evo as “thick”, more kind of “edgy” and I would, on the whole rate the digital side of things higher on the machine - I didn’t find the filters all that interesting on their own to use on external sounds, and get more use from the distotion, trash and echo, using the filters to control the sound.  

It’s not like some filters, where running sounds through them can really warm and thicken a digital source, for that you might want to look at: mutator, frostwave resonator, modular stuff, or (I only know it by reputation) electrix filter factory.

That isn’t to say that you might not get a lot out of using it that way, just, maybe, not what you expected :-)
