Re: [Evolver] evolver "punchiness"

2005-06-18 by Brooks Mosher

I've been looking at getting an evolver for a while now. The main
selling point to me are the filters, the sequencer, and the
flexibility. However, this would also fit into my studio as kind of a
bass synth as well. I've listened to MP3's of the thing on the
internet (as well as your site too Stefan - respect to you!) but I
haven't heard any bass sounds that sound like what I'm looking for.
Can this do a thick punchy low end bass? I've also been considering
the MFB synth II.

To give you all a reference, one of my pieces in my studio is a
Jupiter 6. I love the sound of the Jupiter 6, but it doesn't quite do
the bass thing I want. I love the filter and you can get really nice
resonance type sub bass things with it. But I want something with a
little more character in the Attack and Decay of the filter envelope.

I'd love to know people's opinion on the Evolver and the type of bass
sound it can do. Can it do bass sounds like a Pro-one for example?

Thanks and respect to all on this list!
