After I got my PEK back in May, I started lusting after additional polyphony and strongly considered the Evo tabletop. I rationalized that if I was willing to spend $500 for one extra voice, why not make a little bit more of an investment and just go for the PE Rack and that's what I did. So I have full 8 voice poly and the flexibility to just use the PER if I don't have room for the PEK. I have my S90 Master keyboard set up with 2 banks of patch changes just for the PEK/PER rig, so if I'm not carrying my PEK as the master for the PER, my S90 can seamlessly change patches for the PER. If you get the Evo and find yourself craving more than 5 voices, you'll ultimately end up with the PER. May as well save a step and go for the PER right away! :) Regards, Eric --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, "djparislee" <paristhedj@h...> wrote: > I bought my PEK a month ago...and obviously I'm pretty blown away...this will always be an > essential part of my arsenal... > > however, I just was in a store and laid my eyes on the Evolver desktop...call me > greedy...but 500 bucks for a "mini-me" evolver that you can take on the road seems like a > pretty sweet deal... > > anyone have both? are there any differences sonically between the two? > > -Paris
