...is an INTERPOLATING delay.  When the delay time is changed, rather 
than glitching, it pitch-shifts.  That's why it can be used for 
chorusing and flanging.

On page 29, the manual states "Note - if all three Delay taps are in 
use, the Levels of each should be set to lower amounts to prevent 
overload distortion"

So make sure you've got the delay levels set low.
