wow.
now there's a very weird thing - in the
MIDI clock caveats section - The system exclusive filter option filters out
clock, which is a system COMMON message. That's utterly wrong.
.....how did cubase's programmers get so
retarded?
oh well... I just run my mpc2000xl synced to cubase
via MIDI clock, and it's all good. I'm glad I have no need for cubase to be the
slave. (though I guess I could always slave it via timecode)

In response to your question, it is not possible -- at least according to the book on sx that i have. i didn't have time to look in the manual, but i think the fact that i can't find the option *anywhere* in the sync settings in sx confirms this fact -- but i might be wrong. I also could not figure out how to get the monomachine to serve as the "stop and go"/transport control for sx, but that's probably my own stupidity -- or maybe another sx shortfall. it's so close to being the perfect sequencer, but the sync issue drives me nuts. the clock is *not* stable that comes out of it, so users should have the option of selecting how they want THEIR studio to operate.
does anyone know if sx 3 receives/syncs to external clock?
i apologize for hijacking this thread -- if people prefer not to receive OT threads, I guess me and Brooks can take it outside. So to speak!
