I'm not sure if this falls under the "completely obvious" category, but here goes anyway. To have the evolver's internal sequencer glide from note to note, program your melody using the "Midi Note Number" destination rather than "Oscillator Frequency." Then connect the evolver's midi out to it's own midi in, make sure you've got some glide on the oscillators, and voila! Acidic evolver, or something like that. Obviously, this workaround has some serious drawbacks, especially if you want to sync the evo to other gear. But for goofing around by yourself, it works fine! I've also gotten some interesting results using this trick with "Midi Note Velocity" as well. You can modulate some stuff with Midi Velocity and sequence the effects. This worked well for programming some drum patterns. Hope this is handy to somebody out there.
