Thats not always the way... I *never* respond to those kinds of emails. I'm the IT guy where I work so I *always* double-check any link or URL. Most of the time just mousing over a bogus link is enough to reveal its true nature in the status bar. Also, be careful of "secure" sites that don't show the ssl "lock icon" in your browser... Imagine my suprise when I found someone selling a multi-thousand dollar item on my account with a one day auction! In the listing there was something about "only contact me at xxxxx@... because my eBay mail is not working now..." Probably the person hacked my password because it was two dictionary words strung together. Since then, I have changed my password to a nonsense combination of letters and numbers, upper and lower case. The best defense is a strong ofense.
