Hi and thanks for the info. > imho, the evolver is *not* good at improvising sequences. I bought one anyway. it > sends/receives midi clock and it seamlessly advances from one > sequence to another you choose (a la mc505, electribe and many > others). but it's not good at improvising x0x-style sequences. I must admit so far I'm absolutely loving it as a stand alone ambient loop creater - so much fun - but, yeah, I agree it could be tricky to jam with. I've got a plan to try to use it just for really simple repeated riffs so have all the oscilators turned down, enter the riff in with no sound then turn them up and tweak as needed. Hopefully will work. > if you want an x0x-style experience, i suggest the future-retro > revolver ($699 us). I had one - a lovely sounding synth with an amazing sequencer but I had some issues with it in my setup for some reason so had to get rid of it unfortunately. The person I jam with uses a 777 so we've still got the FR sound. > -- it's challenging to change note lengths on the fly. I haven't found out how you change note lengths yet - I thought the sequencer was just on/off/rst. Thanks again for the info. I'll let you know if I succeed in using it as planned. It sounds so good and is so easy to use for other things I'm not bothered now if it doesn't work out for jamming. Cheers Bob
