I have a PEK, so it may be slightly different, but if all you want to do is change the voice assignment so that only voice one plays, you can do this in program mode. In the Misc Parameters section, there is an option for "Key Mode" - this can be set to Poly, Mono, Unison1, and Unison2. Try Mono for one voice mono, or try Unison for all voices output but mono keyboard action.
