Re: [Evolver] A wireless ZigBee Enabled Evolver???

2007-04-04 by Tom

Anybody know what's up with the Evolver CV inputs? I did not see CV input listed in the
manual as a modulation source. Jim, I figured that CV was just another mod source. That
would be nice. See page 35 or so. Is CV hardwired to modulate just one thing like
triggering a sequence? Volume? Gate? If that's the case that would be ok for my purposes
right now, I'd just like to know how people are using it. You would be suprised about how
people are inventive with how they actually use things beyond what a tech support person
or manual can tell you.

It would also be nice to try and transmit MIDI and CV to the same instument. Yes I could
do that without blowing things up! These transmitters and receivers I have access to are
very smart little guys and can know what they are talking to. It is like having an early older
model PC built into each end of the wire except it's wireless and in a small chip.

That SH-101 sure does cover the coolness factor, price point and CV. Not something I can
go in and pick up over at Guitar Center though. I like to support living entities like Evolver.
I have an interest in technology that is, well, continuing to evolve. CV never really died, it
just found a niche and it is nice to see it included in a current synth line however limited
the implementation.

> Do not use an evolver for this, the CV inputs aren't quite like the CV in's on most other
synths. I would recommend getting an older analog with CV controls - ie Roland SH-09 or
SH-101 (roughly the same price as a new desktop evolver) or something along those lines.
