Thanks ski,

That helps me immensely especially the answer to the 3rd question.  I 
had a feeling it had something to do with seq destination.  But for 
question #2, the manual, (i don't have in front of me, i'm at work) 
specifically mentions being able to use a midi keyboard to program 
the step sequencer and I remember it referred to pitch change as well 
as gating.
