I'm fairly certain Sustain isn't a destination in the modulation slots, but Release is. So, not knowing exactly how EWIs work, I think if you're not triggering any notes and lowering the breath amount, then yes, you should be able to trigger a "fresh" envelope. Also, VCA level is a modulation destination, so (again, I'm ignorant about EWIs) theoretically you could control the amp envelope with nothing but your breath amount! Back in high school I was a trumpet player, so there's definitely a part of me that would love to use an EVI (or something that responds to trumpet fingerings) with my evolver. And the comment about the Blofeld being a toy is nonsense. As long as it has breath control as a mod source (and I'd assume it does), either one of the synths you mentioned will give you tons of possibilities and good sounds. --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, "Ed" <edzentera@...> wrote: > > Can a lower breath threshold be set for sustain/release - such that a > fresh ADSR is triggered with actual articulation? >
