fav configuration right now
SE Prophet '08 on top
PEK middle
Korg Extreme bottom
that rounds up the core
sure there are many other synths here, hardware wise but
they plug into that core
softsynth wise often in use with the core
above
fm8, fm7, reaktor, Vapor, Lounge Lizard, MMV2, CS80 and
Bosendorfer 290 .. sure
there are hundreds more of softsynths here too, some even
made by me but those above
fit well into the duel DSI items.
why a 200e? why anything else right now other than a
Oasys? to replace the extreme ...
Roland GR-20 used to get string modulation into the
system. There is another workstation here, Fusion 88.
sure it would be nice to have a wall of modulars to choose
more sound with here and there in the mix but
PEK often fits that too. ION is here for other emulations
of other synths too. Just why add yet, one more synth
unless it really has something ... something unique in
sound? A few rack mount modular things are in the 7 foot rack now,
effect wise ... analog filters and such ...
NI's Kore looks promising to nail down the standalone soft
synths in use on the XP synth box.
why the darn extreme 88? I like weighted keys and full
range to toy with the synths with.
there is a moss card in it too that works well with
the PEK and '08.
then there is the sampleing it does, I can create a patch
on the PEK or '08, sample it and it's
there to use along with other combo's or karma it via the
software karma program.
if you do not use pedals, fc7 and such with the PEK and
'08, your missing out too ... sure they clutter
the floor and often I get confused on what pedal is doing
what synth ... but the control is very cool ...
same as after touch .. you got to get into the system and
try out different modualtion techniques ...
ebow to the Les Paul that feeds the GR-20 that feeds the
PEK or '08 or both ...
do you need a continuum? I even had some luck with a pedal
steel with the GR pickup ...
forget the hard mount, use some double face tape and move
it around ... ;-)
yes, I have much sonic fun when I can ...

I'm preaching to the choir here, but I think that the evolvers are very, very deep units.and often compare mine to an Arp 2600.(I'd still get a 200e if I had the disposable cash and a another lifetime to study how to use it.)jmw
