Re: [DSI Synths] How to connect

2011-07-13 by Ravi Ivan Sharma

Not sure what your question is.

You can use either the usb or the midi connectors for the Tetra -- or both.

If you play the evolver using logic, do you have logic set to play the correct UM880 output (the one that is connect to the input of the Evolver)?

it seems to me that if you connect the evolver midi in to say UM880 channel 1 out and the FS1R midi in to UM880 channel 2 out, then you should be able to play the same from logic and via your PCR800 by having the proper tracks outputing to the UM880 channels 1 and 2 respectively.

Hello,
I am at wit's end. I have an Evolver and recently purchased a Tetr4. I use a mac mini and an Eidrol UM880 interface. I know that I should connect the evolver to the UM880 but I don't know whether to use the usb or the MIdi connectors for the Tetr4. I also have a PCR 800 keyboard/controller. They all show up in the mac Audio/Midi Utility except the evolver. I did create an instrument for the evolver. I also use Logic Pro 9.1. I have been able to play the Tetr4 from the PCR800 by connecting the usb. I have never been able to play the evolver thru logic at all.
I also just acquired an old FS1r that I want to connect thru logic also but I know this is a DSI forum So I'll ask only about the DSI equipment.

Can someone help?
Thanks
