try pulse width and some slight pulse-width modulation on at least one of the oscillators, Try using square wave or pulse-width square on both. Also try little detune. Experiment with slow and not too deep pulse width modulation on one or both square wave oscillators and experiment with slight detune both of the oscillators making sure to + one of them by the same amount you - the other. i.e. +3, -3. Dump the distortion for now and stay away from sin for now. Sine is not round in sound, square waves are. Like a baritone clarinet. But do not allow the pulse width to become too thin or you will end up with a not-round bassoon-like nasaly sound.
Also filter envelop to create a fast opening of the filter with quick decay to less hi frequencies will give some bite but leave a round end. But not to wet unless you like it that way.
