There are definate differences. The question is, if I load my saved sysex patches from the beta unit, will they sound as now, or be correct. I have a feeling that certain things changed. In addition to some tweaking--I can hear a few patches that are variations of my original ones.

I've noticed that, for instance, Patch A1 shows up in many other
places throughout the presets - all with changes made to it, like
slowing down the sequencer tempo a lot, or adding feedback, tweaking
other parameters, etc.

It could be that your original version was editied many times. I had
no experience with the Beta units though...so if there is a
difference in the synthesis archetecture, we'd all like to know what
changes were made and why, just out of curiosity.

Ravi, I'd have to guess that, if you load your saved SYSEX files
(that you created on a beta unit) into a production unit...

- some of your patches will sound quite different (because I know for
a fact that Dave tweaked some of the patches we sent him)

- others will sound at least *close* to "correct" (albeit probably
with minor differences due to the upgraded DSP chip in the production
units, changes in the OS programming, etc.)

Along with the upgraded DSP chips, there might be other differences
in the production vs. beta units. There's also the software
workaround that Dave had to program in order to get around the
hardware bug in the new DSP chips; that may have caused a difference
in the way things sound, too, though I'm not sure.

Well when I get time I will spy both patch A1 and my original patch in Sounddiver and see what's what.
