Just one question about Evolver...

Just one question about Evolver...

2003-07-09 by m1kefxman

Hi everyone!

My name is Mike, newbie on this list... I don´t own any Evolver...
but I´m trying to figure some things before eventually buying one,
so therefore I would like to ask a simple question about it.

Does the sequencer sends out any midi? (preferably CCs)

The reason for why I´m asking this is that I´m looking for a way to
have something like this to control and manipulate my guitar fxs
by sequences, ´cos regular guitar fx doesn´t go to the extreme
when it comes to such interactivity and control...

thanks in advance!
MIKE

Unfortunately, the sequencer only controls internal parameters. The
good news is that the evolver makes a great guitar processor in
itself. It does distortion, delay, flange, some chorus-like effects,
envelope follower sounds, tremolo, pseudo-wah sounds, various other
filter effects, if you're clever you can get ring-mod like sounds
(look for one of my posts a couple weeks back) plus it does cool
stuff guitar processors usually don't do, like the feedback for
example. It's also a synth. :p

But if you are just looking for a sequencer, check out the
Technosaurus Microcon. It's small, it's cheap, it's a step sequencer
that sends out MIDI. The Korg Electribe boxes are also good for this
and can be had quite cheaply.

Perhaps you mean the Technosaurus Cyclodon?

MIDI SEQUENCERS

If you want a good hardware sequencer try the Doepfer MAQ 16/3

Uh, no. It's not a sequencer, it's a synth. Your thinking of the cyclodon, which is a CV seq., not midi :) Both are made by Technosaurus... Both of those pieces ROCK, I've been using them for quite a long time. I just played a live PA set opening for Gold Chains here in Seattle using an xbase 09, Evolver, Microcon/Cyclodon, Sherman Filter and a Memory Man... sick little kit!

Gah, you're right. I don't know where my head was at when I posted
that. The worst part is that I *know* all of that stuff, I don't know
why I was handing out misinformation. I really dropped the ball. :(

No, I think it only accepts Roland style (DIN?) sync as an input.
