some more questions :)

some more questions :)

2003-08-22 by phonophobie

jupp:

-about sequencer the manual says "....using rests, resets and
different clock divides... you can achieve complex
sequences" ........
is it possible to set different clock divides to each of the 4 step
sequencers ?

-where can i get a y-adapter (in germany - wäre gut) ?

-is there a way to glide in sequencer mode?

-can i destroy something in evolver when i send the evolver output
signal or any loud signal back intoo the input?

-why is this thing always getting better. i am in love ;)

no..and thats to bad.
but you can set the lfo speed to sync in what dividing
factor you like
also play with diffent dividing factors for the
sequenser..16S is nice for that german poleguy
dubgroove feeling:)

there is a glide for the oscs yepp.

No. You can only imitate a glide effect by routing an Envelope to pitch on
particular steps.

I don't think so, but I am not sure. But I am pretty sure that you'd be a
little disappointed about the sonic results of such feedback experiments ;-)

I did this by accident last night, did it to my
sampler aswell (too many returns being resent, too
many beers).
Stefan is right, sounded just like mic feedback, dunno
if anything was damaged yet :\ It doesn't seem
damaged, most things stand up to alittle feedback
abuse (I used to play bass and that's where you start
damaging things feed back, I learnt how to repair
speaker cone back then;)

will there be an os update in the near future? or is it just as

I am a user only and have no clue about future updates.
In fact I don't care much, because the Evolver has no bugs and is nearly
perfect as it is ;-)

ah.. ok.. i just was wandering because someone wrote something about
a update..
btw:i always have some update thoughts about my synthesizers. thats
not because they are bad or buggy - i just want to have more
programming features. every synth got it´s limitations and i still
did not found any perfect synth. evolver is a very nice thing and
it´s getting better. very uncommon to programm. so much weird sounds
in that box. i like to do new things with
feedbackdelaysequncesandallthatshit... but i also would like to have
additional features like that userwaveform thing or fm for osc1,2 and
sync for osc 3 and 4. for my k5000 i would like to have better
resynthesis, detuned harmonics - for my sidstation i would like to
hear it speak - ....etc etc etc... mostly these are wishes and will
never realised by the synthmakers - but sometimes synthmakers feel
the same way like the users and wishes come true... ohhhh ;)

The Evolver indeed has a bug or two...

I wouldn't take it too seriously, Amanda. Phono is German, and if
you go back to read his entire message, I think you'll see that
something's probably being lost in the translation to English. Also,
he was responding to (we think) a female poster (nina), so he almost
certainly wasn't trying to offend anyone.

In any case, glad to see you're still lurking! I don't know if you
ever saw it, but some of the crowd at EX5Tech was raving over your
studio a number of months ago. Would love to hear some Evo music
from you if you ever get a chance.

well what can i say... :) .... you are right, please don´t take this
posting toooo serious. anyway i have to say that it was kind on funny
to find a site that named girls on synth. but that was just because a
friend of mine was telling me about that site ... he was like - you
know - girls on cars and that stuff - so he told me..hey look at this
girls on synth, they are hot.. and so on....hehe....talking with
a ;)!!!! (of course it´s not this way and i think everybody knows
that)
personally i was really surprised about how much female electronic
artist are out there... i wish once in my life i will find a wife
interested in synth and music;)
i did´t expect that someone from that site could read this
posting ...ouch... i understand when you doubt that. i am really
sorry for that. but after all it was just a normal conversation as it
happens every day between human mankind ;) i hope you understand what
i trying to say ... cikira or amanda, i really went mad as i saw your
studio. i only have my little equipment and seeing such pro studios
is always interesting for me. ´would like to hear some music, too.
allthebest
phono - a german guy, sometimes talking shit;)

Oh, don't worry, Ski and Phono! I could see the translation situation, and I
was just using that post as an excuse to chime in! If I took offense to
things, life would be no fun.

I have to admit I do enjoy it when once in a while I'm alerted to a
synth-group discussion about how synths affect women, or how women are bored by them
(!!!), or something like that. If I see that people have said really dumb
things, I jump in like a hawk among the pigeons :-)

please) to make laughing-patches for all my synths!

Whoaaaaa... Stefan is good for much more than "laughing synth
patches". Now, to be clear, I DID mean that in a musical sense! If
you're not already familiar with his work, Stefan has made some
outstanding sounds and music with the Evolver and his other synths.
Be sure to check it all out at his website:

I pretty much thought that there must be WAY more women using synths and
making great music than that list. Too depressing to believe it would be so
short.
