Help! MIDI! ARGH!

Help! MIDI! ARGH!

2003-09-13 by threerocks2000

Hi, just purchased unit #766 and although the sequences and sounds
are very impressive I admit I'm stumped when dealing with MIDI and
this thing. I'm attempting to play individual notes on E via MIDI
from my Nord Modular KB, and for the life of me I cannot get Evolver
to produce any notes/sounds when triggered from the keyboard. I've
read the sections of the manual regading MIDI send/recieve and the
Key off /transpose parameter, all's set right (I think) and I'm still
ferklempt (this is a daunting interface at first, and the manual's no
peach either.)

The Nord is set to local control on, send MIDI on all channels. Yes
the MIDI cable is plugged out/in right. Yes I'm on the bank(s) with
single tones, not sequences. I even hooked E up to another board
that transmits MIDI notes, and nothing. HELP!

Thanks in advance 3r2k

just a thought... I did something similar a couple of weeks ago and was
stumped for a few minutes. it turned out that I had accidentally changed
the value for the *main* MIDI Rec knob. so check that out; it's in the
main menu and I believe that having it set at "all" should do what you
want it to.

Joe.

Tks Joe, but I'm having so much pure anadigital bliss/fun with the
sequences that KB control is the last thing on my mind right now.
I also have a email to DSI in and I hear he's good at responding.
Probably something bloody obvious. Sequence 29 is a martial hoot! JB
