WOW! You powered down the Evolver during the upgrade and lived to
tell?! ...when Dave's instructions specifically said, "Thou shalt
not remove the power source from thy Evolver during the sacred
procedure"?

You have some seriously large copper/zinc alloy spherical objects!

Kidding aside, I AM surprised that your Evolver still works. I can't
imagine why the procedure didn't work, unless a) you just needed to
wait longer, or b) you still need more and/or larger output buffers.
You DID adjust the OUTPUT buffers, and not the INPUT buffers, right?

I actually had the same problem the first time I tried to upgrade to
v1.4, but it was because I hadn't adjusted the output buffers. I
thought my Evolver PIC/DSP chips were hosed, but I simply performed
the procedure again (*without* powering off/on) after adjusting the
buffers, and everything went fine.

You may want to try more and/or larger buffers, but I'd probably
email Dave on this one. Best of luck!

I had this happen too. I had to go into midiox and jigger with it to "slow" down the midi transmission. buffers numbers etc. Finally it slowed it down and it went all the way down to 00 which was great. it is the next step after that that you must not power down the evolver during.

Hi,
I had exactly the same problems as Robert, and when the display after
downloading read 99, the "binary counting", which should last for about 10 seconds,
obviously did not happen. Now I can still work with the instrument, but am
not sure what to do next.

Another thing: is it "normal", that internal parameters do not sync to
external midi clock when I load the patch, but do so as soon as I change the tempo
from the external source drastically ("midi clock" of course set to "in")?
And even more: changing the "BPM"values while synced to an external midi clock
changes the timing of internal parameters, even though the display sticks to
the value of the actual tempo?
regards, Stefan
