Is there PC emulation available on the mac??
If anything will run on the emulator, a simple dialog based MIDI SysEx editor should be able to......

I actually just had an email exchange with Dave a couple of days ago about this issue. since I have an old, decrepit pc, I thought maybe I could buy the pc editor now, then trade for the Mac version when available...

In any case, he told me that he was hoping to get the Mac version out by the end of this month. So it must be pretty close.

I use a product called Virtual PC on my Powerbook with decent results,
depending on what you're trying to do. I've never tried using it for MIDI
work, but serial I/O works okay.

The problem is that it's pricey, and it's now owned by Microsoft (they
bought it from Connectix) and has an uncertain future.

Virtual PC isn't any good with MIDI on OSX due to midi being an integral
part of the os. OS9 I have no idea but who wants OS9 anyway?

Hello,

Anyone have any success receiving bank dumps via the OSX editor? I know my MIDI
hookup is correct and my MIDI setup in OSX is correct. The evolver is set to send and
receive all data

When I click on Request All Data, the MIDI light blinks once on the Evolver and the
MIDI in light blinks once on my MTP but then nothing happens.

There doesn't seem to be any online support for this editor at the moment, unless I'm
missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.

You will have no success because it doesn't work! I contacted Mark at
SoundTower about this and he said that it was a bug that came in when
he was in the process of merging the Poly code with the Evolver code.
Seems that the wrong message is being sent to the Evolver.
He said that a fix should be coming soon.

Yeah, I was kind of suprised that there is not even a manual included.
I've been having some problems with the Genetics window which is a lot
of fun but somewhat confusing. When you mutate 2 patches and
audition all of the offspring the Evolver seems to stick on a certain
sequence for all of them. So when you save the patches you like and
load them into the Evolver they don't actually sound anything like they
do in the genetics window. Can anyone help me with this or is that just
the way it is on the PC version too?
