WRT mp3s... Phono, have you not been checking your email from this
group, or the group web interface, or the EX5Tech Evolver forum? I
posted links to four mp3 demos at EX5Tech and in a message to the
Yahoo group here. I posted the same links at the Keyboard Mag and
Harmony Central keyboard forums. Scroll through the following topic
and you'll find links to the four demos:

(Note: If your email client or the Yahoo website has split the text
of the link above, you will need to copy/paste it into the address
bar of your browser.)
Hope you enjoy the demos. The Poly is a fantastic machine.
BTW, Poly #0007 is safely ensconced in the Ski Lodge. :)
Don, your Poly probably sounds better than your Evolver because #0012
is a magic number! ;) Seriously, I haven't made a careful
comparison, as I was too busy trying to fill up the Combo bank prior
to the shipping date. However, though I didn't do any head to head
comparisons, I didn't really notice a difference between the sound
quality of prototypes I had (#0004 and #0003) and my "regular"
Evolver. I still have prototype #0003, along with production unit
#0007, so I'll have to compare the proto and the production Polys to
my Evolver when I get a moment. I'd be surprised if there was a real
difference in audio quality. I wouldn't be too surprised, though, if
the Poly has a bit of a different "feel" (when playing mono lines)
than the Evolver, because each subsequent note on the Poly is being
played by a different synth voice inside the box. Also, when making
head to head comparisons, you have to of course remember to make the
signal paths (including cables, routing, and mixer settings) as
identical as possible.
