Polyevolver and evolver through the editor

Polyevolver and evolver through the editor

2004-05-12 by DodgingRain

Anyone have any luck being able to edit both the evolver and polyevolver
through the editor like it was one synth? SoundTower is completely
non-responsive on the issue.

Yes, I'm using both the Evolver and PolyEvolver with the Editor at
the same time. I used a MIDI Thru Box to do it.

The Evolver MIDI Out goes to MIDI In on the Thru Box, one MIDI Out on
the Thru Box goes to the Computer MIDI In and the second MIDI Out on
the Thru Box to the PolyEvolver MIDI In. In addition, of course the
Evolver MIDI In is connected to the Computer MIDI Out.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I had a feeling it was something odd like that. Which editor are
you using then, the evolver editor or the polyevolver editor?
Seems that setup would mean you would have to recable to be able to use
combo mode?

I followed the instructions in the book with computer out to evolver in,
evolver out to poly in, then poly out to computer in. That seems to confuse
the editor somewhat. I really couldn't care less about getting midi back
from the evolver/polyevolver other than maybe an ocassional sysex dump.

Yeah, I hooked it up like you described and it didn't work correctly.
So using a Thru Box is necessary and simple.

I'm using Evolver PC Sound Editor V 2.0.1, and I just got the key for
Poly Evolver V 1.0.0 but I haven't tried it yet. I don't know the the
difference between the Evolver & Poly Evolver version. I sent an e-
mail asking ... but no answer yet.
