Controllers for the EVO

Controllers for the EVO

2005-01-30 by roid64

Hi I'm new to the board so pardon my ignorance!! OK, what I want to
do is this; I've set up a patch similar to a VCS3 to make synthi-
bubble type noises like Tim Blake/Ozrics. For ultimate tweakability I
need to be able to access all the parameters of the 4 lfos without
using the shift button. I was hoping to use a controller for this. I
have set a patch up in my Nord Modular to act as the controller, i
know the Evo gets the midi info cos the status led lights up, but I
don't know how to assign the relevant parameters to the relevant
knobs on the Nord, any ideas?

The collection of Peavey 1600x presets off the DSI site have one
specifically allocated for the LFO. Each of the 16 faders controls
each parameter of the four LFOs. Of course, you would have to have a
Peavey 1600x to make use of those presets.

Hmmm... I might have to check one of these out...

RE: [Evolver] Controllers for the EVO

The Evolver only has about 6 general CC's that you can use..(that I can
remember).

The ones I know of :

Velocity
Breath Control
Pressure
Foot Control
Mod Wheel

I looked through the manual to see what CC's these are assigned to on the
Evolver, but I didn't see it. I'm pretty sure Velocity is CC 2. You would
then assign one of the knobs on the Modular to send midi CC 2 via it's
software. Then tell the Evolver that you want Velocity to control LFO 1
freq, or whatever you want. But again, I don't know what the other 5 or so
CC's are on the evolver. Given that, you'll only be able to control 5 or 6
parameters at once w/o sending sysex. If you want to do that, then you'll
have to purchase a controler on which you can program sysex messaging.
