Hmmm, don't know about august, but I get the impression that there's already a fairly big backlog for these, and they're certainly not going to be as quick to manufacture as the mono evolvers! BTW, can anyone who gets one comment on the aftertouch? In my demoing of the A6, I was very dissapointed by the aftertouch (it seemed almost unusable), and the PEK uses the same keyboard action -- but I think it was Ravi that mentioned Dave was giving special attention to getting good aftertouch response... Can anyone tell me if the Poly Keyboard will send Midi CC#'s from it's knobs or is it sysex only. If it can send CC#'s are they programmable or hardwired. Thanks, Don

Stefan - Those are some nice pics! Thanks for sharing! Looking at the poly1.jpg picture, I can't help but think the lighted wheels are the same as those found on my Minimoog Voyager. They certainly do LOOK the same. These lighted wheel sure are pretty, especially in dim light. My only gripe about this type of wheel is that it is too smooth - dry fingers easiIy slip on the surface. I much prefer the rubbery surface of the wheels on the Alesis Ion (a slightly wider wheel with a bigger thumb detent - lit, nonslip and feels great!). I never quite understood the reasoning behind the mm-voyager wheels -- sure they look great in photos, but aren't they sort of a pain to actually _use_? I also like that the Ion has _two_ mod-wheels (in addition to PB). [This is to some degree because the Ion lacks aftertouch -- and indeed the 2nd wheel sends AT CCs! -- but it'd be cool to have 2 wheels _and_ aftertouch ... :-] -Miles -- .Numeric stability is probably not all that important when you're guessing.

Such as on the Nord G2X, except it's three wheels and aftertouch.

Hey Miles...
How about green backlit LCDs.... Dave changed them to a funky purple
shortly before NAMM, which is the production standard now.
Am I right? Do I get a prize?

I hope that readers of my comments aren't unsettled about the Evolver filters. So here's the solution of the riddle: There is a typo on the frontplate that passed the beta testing period unnoticed: LOW PASS FIILTER I suppose that the beta testers actually knew where the low pass filter is situated so they neglected to read the labeling carefully ;) ----- Original Message -----

And now all together: 1. Moose is the first and only person who noticed that feature. 2. Stefan noticed it after moose gave several hints, but needed some additional hints from Ravi to notice that the PEK has a highpass filter. 3. Ravi is the man who has everything under control in the end but a little slow though 4. actually, one person noticed! Dunno who :P :) ----- Original Message -----
