I loved my Evolver but due to bad people and bad things - it is no 
longer with me.

So,  I was looking into selling a box or two and getting a poly to make 
up for my loss.  My one setback is the lack of real time control - like 
I found with my first Evolver was that it wasn't that easy to program - 
but now with the lack of real-time control aka: knobs for sound control 
and lack of buttons for the seq - I am afraid that I may be getting 
over my head. 

What I would like to know is this...  If I used a midi controller, can 
I use the controller knobs to edit the sounds in real time? This would 
be a huge plus to me.

You'll only have a few CC's to work with first off.  All other 
parameters will need to be controlled via SYSEX.  Your midi controller 
must be able to be fully programmed to send out specific SYSEX messages 
that the Evolver would understand.  You have to be careful too b/c it is 
  very specific.  My Edirol controller board is very programmable, but 
it lacks a very specific nibble format that the evolver requires for its 
parameters, so I can not use mine in that way.
