I am definitely experiencing jumping. Its just like my other polys or monos with memory (like the moog voyager) in that respect. Particularly noticable when I grab the filter cutoff paramter knob. But I offered tat as a possible explanation for why, in poly chain mode, my "basic patch" edit resulted in 2 different sounds for the 4 voices of the keys and rack.

When you adjust a parameter on the PEK, I thought the sysex message[*]
sent over the polychain output was an absolute setting for that
parameter, which would force the rack to the same value as the keyboard
-- even if they started out with different values.

[*] "Program Parameter", p.53 in the PEK manual

[BTW, AFAIK the PEK uses encoders, not pots, so all knob edits should be
relative on the keyboard side, i.e., no jumping.]

In New York, most people don't have cars, so if you want to kill a person, you
have to take the subway to their house. And sometimes on the way, the train
is delayed and you get impatient, so you have to kill someone on the subway.

So does the PEK not use encoders then? Does it use ordinary pots?

[Seems like it wouldn't affect poly-chain synchronization either way
though, if the parameter sent over midi is absolute.]

The PEK has endless rotary encoders. I have not experienced any
'jumping' with mine, though there is a certain amount of stepping,
which becomes more noticible as resonance is increased or distortion
is on. You tend to get that when you have analog circuitry under
digital control, and a top to bottom resolution of 164 steps..

there is no stepping of this kind with the envelopes or LFO's. just
direct patch manipulation causes it.
