for more traditional 'alternative' wallpaper check out <http://pigpendigital.com/library> i've recently started selling some very large prints of some of these photos after giving wallpaper versions away for free for many years now, so if you want something a bit different lemme know by sending an email to <moose@...>. i usually get lots of requests from other lists i post this info on, so apologies if you find this spam. it certainly isn't and just here to make people's desktops more agreeable! }:-) email : moose@... music sites : http://www.pigpendigital.com http://www.alaskahighway.com http://www.mishikawa.com

i looked at this for the first time in a dog's age this weekend and downloaded the latest version for mac oh sex. it's really come along! i've been writing little motorik sequences for the last few hours, and i'm really pleased with the results. if you gave up on it some time back, check out out - soundtower's clearly put a lot of effort into making this editor usable. -- yours, niall. .. . . . . . . . . . aleph null. a simple insinuation around silence. http://syncretism.net .. .. gpg public key - http://www.aleph-null.net/niall.gpg .. ..

Yep, I'm planning on buying it in a little while. Need to save up the cash. I want to learn off the front panel for a while, then get into the editor about the time I start loading waveforms into the digi oscillators. The GUI is pretty weird on the editor -- very odd how it handles different dialogs and contexts. But it works, so that's good enough for me ;) $50 seems a little steep, though. That's mainly what's holding me back. There are a few cool features, but for the most part, you can accomplish everything just as well if you get efficient at the physical interface. I got the editor in a deal with the synth from a guy on ebay. I don't think it's worth the 50 bucks. --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, Scott Kellogg <glaive@g...> wrote:

You can accomplish everything on the physical interface that you can through the editor. However there are some things (the sequencer especially) that are made MUCH more efficient by being able to view all parameters at once. I personally am not going to quibble about whether it's worth 50 bucks or not compared to other software. I gladly paid it because it adds much ease of use to my Evolver. And I think that I got rather efficient at the user interface.

Is there a freeware tool out there for transferring wavetables to the Evolver? I'm using a Mac. They certainly have been working over there... It actually seems to work in my setup now. And pretty well.. but i have a question. The demo says that its sysex functionality is disabled, and when i move the sliders in realtime, it does not affect the evolver unit... Is this what them mean?.. What I mean is, I would expect that when i move a slider in the app, it would affect the unit. Is this the default behaviour of the SoundTower app? I cant find anywhere in the documentation that this is the default behaviour of the unlocked (ie: not demo) program.... Anyone bought this that can confirm? btw - im on mac (if that matters)
