Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

Has anyone succesfully used a usb midi device to 'recieve all data" 
from the evolver?  I've tried both a M-audio X-session and an Alesis 
photon x25. Both allow me to edit sounds with the evolver, but for 
some reason I can't receive all data or anything sysex related. I 
should say that the editor has all parameters set to default until I 
move the specific parameter.

When I move, for example the volume on the evolver, I see the volume 
on the editor move. When I move the volume on the editor, I see the 
volume value on the evolver change. I can see the pic vesrion on the 
midi setup screen. I've tried moving the delay between dumps to 1000 
ms and a few random values in between. But I can't receive bank data 
or all data, it just sits there waiting.

Any ideas? When I use Midi OX, I can see the bank dumps from the 
evolver. I can sysex dump banks into the evolver with midi OX. I just 
can't get sysex to work from the editor program.

Any suggestions?

I have figured out what was wrong. On the x-session there is a "usb-
>midi" option. Once I set that option, everything worked perfectly. 

As for the photon x25, they suggest setting this option from your 
sequesncer software. I don't think the editor has such an option, so 
I may have to use the x-session for editing and the photon keyboard 
to trigger notes.
