modulation wheel and negative amount

modulation wheel and negative amount

2005-10-17 by matsag21

Hello,

I have been trying to set the modwheel to close the vca amount while
opening the filter.
in the MW slot i have MW -> + 99 -> VCF
in one of the 4 free modultiaon slots: MW -> -99 -> VCA
level = 0
vca = 99

but it does not seem to affect the vca.
on the other hand, if i set VCA to 0 and the modWheel modulation of
the VCA to +99, then the modWheel opens the vca.

i wonder if i should try to reinstall the operating system, of if i
could be doing something wrong ? Any ideas ?

thanks for reading

Mathieu

Hello Mathieu,

I don't have my evolver in front of me, so I can't verify if mine does
what you're talking about. Also, which level are you referring to when
you say "level = 0"? I'll try it when I'm back with my evolver.

Anyways, I understand what you're trying to do, and a workaround, if
you're not using the external input, might be to substitute Oscillator
All Level (OAL) for VCA level in your modulation slot. This might not
 silence every thing, but it's a start.

Thanks for your help!
Your question made me realise the solution.

In fact the modulation destination "VCA" modulates "VCA level" not
"VCA amount" (which i was trying).

The workaround of using "all osc level" works also well in some cases.

Cheers

Mathieu
