In re: to the person asking about the 'aliasy' digital waveforms

I think the VS waveforms are 12 bit, not 8? And as
Carbon111/James just mentioned, you get better resolution
in your own waveforms. I am pretty sure it's 16 bit for
your own waveforms.

Get an audio editing program with deep editing capabilities
such as Sony's Soundforge and every sound you can hear
becomes a great source of single cycle waveforms. Load a
bunch of these into your Evo and make a new instrument!

And James..I love my 6HD! Thanks for your enthusiasm that
made me buy it. :o)

Hello,

The VS waves are 12 bit. The aliasing is not endemic to the waves, its
how they're being interpolated.
The MWII uses the same 8 bit (even lower resolution than the VS)
waves from the PPG Wave synth, however the aliasing and noise thats
present when the waves are used in the PPG Wave and MW1 is largely
eliminated when the waves are used in the MWII. It also has a page
(Quality) that if one's sufficiently nostalgic enough, one can dial the
aliasing and quantization noise back into the output.
It sounds like whatever method (or algorithm) for the wave
interpolation the P-VS used, it was ported directly over to the Evo
platform without alteration.
Given the PEK's price point, it would't be a bad idea to have the
choice.
Since its not the waves themselves, its probably something that could
be solved in an OS update if DSI is so inclined.

Best Regards,
