The aliasing is not endemic to the waves, its how they're being interpolated. The MWII uses the same 8 bit (even lower resolution than the VS) waves from the PPG Wave synth, however the aliasing and noise thats present when the waves are used in the PPG Wave and MW1 is largely eliminated when the waves are used in the MWII. It also has a page (Quality) that if one's sufficiently nostalgic enough, one can dial the aliasing and quantization noise back into the output. It sounds like whatever method (or algorithm) for the wave interpolation the P-VS used, it was ported directly over to the Evo platform without alteration. Given the PEK's price point, it would't be a bad idea to have the choice. Since its not the waves themselves, its probably something that could be solved in an OS update if DSI is so inclined.
