Sorry I meant useless for sysex.

But there are Other problems with the SL

1.	Very poor displays, after having it replaced twice I am now
pretty sure they are all like it. Very hard to read from different
angles, lots of ghost vertical lines on display, backlighting not even
much lighter at right and left edges.
2.	Bad build quality, display screen guard loose, slider handles at
strange angles. All rather tacky I wouldn't think it will last long.
3.	Firmware update very dodgy, have to try multiple times.
4.	Automap for Live 5 next to useless.
5.	Only 40 template memories, most decent synths are going to use
3-5 of these each
6.	Very poor templates, for instance the arturia arp template only
maps about 10 things and uses 2 templates.
7.	No printed manual
8.	Editor software looks like bad shareware and crashes a lot.
9.	Slows down sometimes and all midi notes are delayed, this is
very bad.

Good points

1.	The keyboard is nice.
2.	Reason automap very good

I would not recommend one I must admit.

Cheers

Andy

well this is very unfair to the SL !
just cos it doesn't handle the evolvers it doesn't mean is
a pretty useless controller !

it is still a fantastic thing like no other and will probably handle
95%
of the machines out there if not more :
joystick, pad, vel, atouch, the LCDs (!), drum pads, CC, NRPN, RPN ,
SYSX, MMC

Sux to hear. Hopefully it's just growing pains for the SL. After many
different controllers (maudio, Korg, edirol, evolution) i am firmly
for my remote 25, both for stability and programability
