Back light problems

Hi Guys, The back light on my PEK has just failed. Has anyone else seen this? It then came back for a bit but just on the left side and now it has gone again. I seem to remember it being lit from both the left and right side before but I am not sure. Is it something I can have a look at by opening up the case or will this void my warranty? Cheers Andy
