Instrument Interface

Instrument Interface

2006-10-16 by Bernie

Today I plugged my guitar into my PEK to see the how sound could be
modulated. I was surprised that the envelope generators and filter had
no effect, but other effects like distortion and delay worked fine.
Has anyone else been more successful that I've been with the
instrument interface?

Did you have a key pressed?

I assumed that you would understand I meant that you need to have a key on the poly
evolver (or the midi controller you use) to activate the filter path, but I guess you didn't
catch that.

Thanks Andy. That got me farther along than I was, but it's going to
take a bit more playing around with the modules.

No, I missed it altogether. I tried your suggestion, but it didn't
have any affect. I'll continue trying though.

Dosen't the Evolver have a built-in envelope follower with a level trigger?

Translating the harmony-central.com article from Evolver-speak to
PEK-speak and trying the examples, my guitar was able to trigger the
envelopes. Unfortunately my guitar signal is too weak, so the
results weren't that great. I think it's going to take a preamp and
a couple of hours of playing with the controls to get satisfactory
results.

Hi Bernie,

You definitely need some kind of preamp.

Cheers
