Q about the 4 osc's

Q about the 4 osc's

2007-04-28 by blowupbug

hey all

just bought a used PEK for a great price, but unfornutately have to wait 3 more weeks to pick
it up (police hold on used equip at GC here).

i did get them to give me the manual, and i am curious about the "Osc 1 hardwired to left
channel" etc as described. does this mean each osc tweak only affects the left (or right)
channel, or are these signals mixed later in the path? if the former, can 2 or more osc's be
selected for tweakage at once?

trying to figure out why the hell it works this way (the left/right thing), or if i am even
understanding it correctly. thanks for any feedback you can give.

don't be alarmed- you can throw them into a regular center pan with a
turn of a knob in the filter section. it's a cool feature because if
you keep the two oscillators on separate channels panned apart from
one another (you can vary the separation), it can create a really cool
& unusual layer/doubled/stereo sound.

but i get the feeling you are concerned they must stay split in a pan
from one another throughout the signal path, which they don't. as for
the tweak/channel concerns, don't worry, it is quite flexible and will
work in a normal, typical analog synth fashion if you so program it to.
