envelope amount sounds flaky

envelope amount sounds flaky

I've been making some basic acid lines with the desktop evolver, and I've noticed that varying
the envelope amount tends to sound a bit crappy, like the filter jumps in steps instead of
opening smoothly, as it does with varying the filter cutoff. I wonder if there is some kind of
smoothing applied to the control voltage for the filter cutoff, but not for the envelope
amount? it makes it pretty hard to do decent acid lines.

actually it seems to apply to alot of parameters, osc levels for instance, have audible glitches
when you change the parameter. its a shame, that the audio quality is compromised like
that... but there no glitch if you alter the program gain. i guess that some parameters are
smoothed and some arent. it would be useful to know which ones, for performance tweaking.
i still love my evolver though! I guess you just have to make it do what it does best.

I believe the only parameter that the manual mentions as being
smoothed is the filter cutoff. My guess is it's probably the only one
that's smoothed, and certain parameters have glichier digital control
than others.
