Anyone have any info about what the similarities and differences between PolyEvolver and Prophet 08? I have a poly and am considering adding a prophet rack to

You can pretty much get all of the information from Dave Smith's
Website. The Prophet is all analog. There aren't any of the digital
aspects of the evolver in the Prophet. They are different beasts to be
sure.

I've noticed in the Pro 08 specs that you can modulate the mod slots amounts, something I hope the Evolvers get in the next update.

You asked Dave directly, yes? That's the best way to ensure
that it gets considered.

Hi,
  I had personally thought that these parts came from the Digital side.
I was in the understanding that the Audio path is Analog, such as the
OSC, Filter and VCA, but that he was still using the same chips that the
Evolver
used and the digital side was providing the following:

    * 16 x 4 gated step sequencer
    * Arpeggiator
    * 4 LFOs
    * 3 Envelope Generators: filter
    * White noise generator
    *

Cheers,
Dave

Missing From Prophet 8

2 digital wavetable oscillators with Prophet VS waves and wave
sequencing capability, FM and ring modulation.
Digital high-pass filter.
Digital delays: 3 separate, syncable, stereo delay lines.
Tuned feedback with "Grunge": use feedback as a pitched sound source.
Distortion and "Output Hack."

No Arp on the Evolver, digital signal path at the outputs

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
