Hi

I could do with some advice on setting up midi with my Evolver 
desktop.

I have the following:

MED
Emu X-Board 25 controller keyboard
a 1 in 1 out midi port (a Carillon or something, I'm typing this at 
work and can't recall the model for sure)
PC running Windows XP

Now I can set it up to play midi notes and send CC's via the X-Board 
and I can set it to receive program banks but what I can't do is both 
without having to switch midi cables. This isn't a problem when 
uploading banks but it does prevent me from sending note or CC 
messages from a sequencer to the Evolver whilst playing notes from 
the keyboard.

The way I generally wire things up when playing is X-Board midi - out 
to MED midi - in. If I want to upload banks I have to unplug the X-
Board cable and attach the midi-out of the midi port to MED's midi - 
in. 

Is there any way I can wire the thing up so it will accept midi-in 
from both the X-board and my PC? Or do I need to buy a 2in - 2 out 
midi port?


I've tinkered about with various setting in Midi-Ox to the point 
where I think I might have screwed midi up completely!

Don t worry about Midi-Ox. Once you close it , all midi settings on your devices should return to default. MIDI-Ox won t screw it up. You will need a 2 port
