My New MEK

My New MEK

2008-04-05 by iain010100

I bought an MEK to replace my MED last week. I debated about getting
the Mono keyboard seeing as how I have the wonderful desktop at half
the price. The MED is great as a sound module if you don't intend to
alter the sounds but I found the interface a bit too distancing to be
useful in editing.

I've owned the Keyboard for one week and with in that time I've
learned more about synth programming than I have in 25 years as a
keyboard player thanks to the simple and intuitive layout. I've been
up till 2 am turning knobs all week.

So if anyone with the Desktop has doubts about upgrading, go ahead and
take the plunge.

It works nicely with my desktop for dual polyphony so I'm probably
going to get a Poly Evolver Rack so I can play synthy chords from the
80's and grow my hair all Flock of Seagulls, Boy George, Howard Jones.
Weeee! A Poly Keyboard would be nice too, but my workspace is limited,
and I may use the synth on gigs, so the Rack and the Mono Keyboard are
great for my situation.
