controlling PEK with ProTools sequencer

i'm trying to use ProTools as a sequencer for my PEK. i can get PT to record midi notes from the PEK and recieve audio, but i can't seem to get the notes to "play" the PEK. i've tried all of the global settings having to do with midi clock and such. does anyone out there use the polyevolver with protools? how can i use ;the sequencer to record and playback a performance? i am getting confused. the book or definitive guide doesn't say much about this. 0; thanks in advance! jason
