Controlling Envelope release with the sequencer

Controlling Envelope release with the sequencer

2009-05-15 by skylab001

I'm having some issues with controlling envelope 2 release (or decay for that matter) with the sequencer. I'm trying to create a sound that "opens up" on certain steps and when I set a track to control env 2 release to do this, it actually seems to close env 2's release and doesn't work as I intend. If I play the sequence by hand it and tweak env 2 release, I get the sound I want, It's only when I try sequencing it that I have issues. What am I doing wrong?

Positive modulation amounts on envelope times shorten the respective phases.
It's programmed that way.
You can either program a longer decay time from the beginning that is
shortened by all sequencer steps except for those that you want to be longer
or you use a modulation slot where you use a sequencer track as source with
full negative amount on decay or release time (don't forget to set the
destination in the respective sequencer track to off).
