note release... voice stealing

note release... voice stealing

2003-02-26 by Paul Weissman

ok, i think my evolver just changed it's behavior on me... but i'm not
positive.

when you hold a keyboard note and press another notes before letting go of
the first one, shouldn't the evolver play the next note and let go of the
first? mine isn't. am i completely wrong in thinking this is the way it
should work? i scanned the manual several times trying to find a parameter
to affect how midi note on/off messages are handled... but i couldn't find
anything that changed this behavior. am i missing something obvious?

thanks...

paul

Did you try to change the Key Mode ?
If not, try *last note* settings, like LoR, LaR.

Paul, I basically concur with Simon's recommendation; you need to
change the "Key Mode" setting for the program in question. However,
I don't think you want to use "L0r", which is "Low Note Priority -
retrigger envelopes". Based on your message, I think you're asking
for one of the two "Last Note Priority" settings, which are "LA"
and "LAr" (these happen to be my personal preferences, as well).

Look in the manual in the "Trigger Interface Parameters" section,
under "Key Mode" for details.

You are right Ski about Lor. As soon as i
sent the email i realised i made a mistake.
It's really La or Lar you need.
