To clarify... I mean OTHER than purchasing the 2 recommended 
SmartMedia cards.  I am referring to directly connecting to my 
computer and outputting to my hard drive.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
