Quarlofx!
"Been there, done that".....recently. I bought the DTXtremeIIS
totally unseen/ unheard. My take is that you won't be disppointed
either way. These are GREAT kits with KILLER sounds. DTXIIS=More $$
for more growth?- DO IT ..IF you'll really use it! Otherwise, save
some bucks and enjoy a truely cool sounding Express kit. And, I
don't think the space requirements are THAT different (DTXIIS is a
little deeper). Mine is on a 5'x 5' pad (picture in "photo"
section). My guess is (ask other members) the DTXPIII would work on
a 5'x 4'pad. I'm an old f*rt drummer who went straight from a '70's
Ludwig Vistalite (which was too loud/large to play at home) to the
DTXIIS. The new rubber pads are INCREDIBLE feeling. Close your eyes-
your on acoustic heads...only BETTER!- SOFTER without tension lugs I
feel I've dropped 20 years!!! It's revitalizing to be able to crank
away again without disturbing anyone- then watch their faces when
they slide on the headphones! The DTXIIS is pretty deep in function
( but user friendly- just NOT the manual)and will provide a longtime
challenge for us ole-folks. Shoot! I don't expect to get hit with
the upgrade bug for ...uuhhhh...errrr..wellll... awhile!(provided I
NEVER EVER EVER look at OGD's 'planned take-over of the Northern
Hemisphere' Kit again!!!
Relax, think, enjoy!!!
